On Motcomb : Motcomb St, Chelsea.

ON Motcomb is the latest addition to the fashion scene on Motcomb Street. A show-stopping new boutique, it is the first London store to exclusively stock women’s eveningwear and gowns with some pieces created exclusively for the shop. Step inside the store and be dazzled by the masterpieces on display; dresses here can cost anything from £2,000 to £65,000 and beyond. Some gowns are so exquisite that they’ll never make it to the shop floor and are only shown to select clients.

Designed by interiors designer Ammar Bashir, the minimalist, all-white store has the effect of an art gallery with couture pieces curated for the fashion curious. Downstairs the changing rooms are a sight to behold – larger than the average London flat you could spend the whole day lounging in fashion land. The boutique is devoted to evening wear by Balmain, Carolina Herrera, Elie Saab, Erdem, Giamattista Couture, Valli Couture, Marchesa and Zac Posen.

There's a great review of this project on the Dezeen website -great photos and details of the shopfit and fitting areas.

Emmett Jermyn St

There seems to be a strong demand for quality in these times of Fast Fashion. We all know that lowering the cost often creates a sale, but quality lasts longer, and ultimately makes for better value.

We have recently been working with those creative designers at Campaign design on a store for Emmett Shirts on Jermyn St, which raises their game another notch. The shirt displays are beautiful and the accented illumination works very well.

ZARA Kensington High Street

The Zara store on Kensington High Street is now open again after a 13 week refit by Oracle Interiors. Although Zara traded from this location previously, the store has been subject to a complete strip out and refit to the new international standard. The store redefines premium fast fashion, with a very strong luxury feel to the merchandise and shopping environment.

All the internal shop and display  equipment have been replaced, along with all the floor finishes, the ceiling and lighting coffers, not to mention all the electrical, mechanical and life safety systems concealed within the store as part of our contract works.

We like it a lot...

Juicy Couture :: Westfield London

We have just completed the latest store for Juicy Couture in Westfield London. It's a store that turns most fashion genres on it's head, and redefines what luxury is in the 21st century. The look and feel is not dissimilar to the flagship store we also completed in Bruton Street, Mayfair in 2008, but distinctly more modern. More like Malibu we think than Mayfair, and likely to go down very well in West London.

Oasis, Argyll Street.

Over the last few months we've been busy with the Aurora Fashion team creating the new OASIS flagship store on Argyll Street. Working with Dalziel and Pow as lead Designer, and the in-house store development team, we have stripped out the old store, refurbished the fabric of the building and facade, completed alterations to structure of the building to enable the escalators to be moved, and also fitted out the new store interior.

The 5500 sq ft project was completed in ten weeks by Oracle Interiors - although you can watch the work take place in less than sixty seconds below!

Whenever you stay in a luxury hotel, and after showering, envelope yourself in their deep towels and bathrobes - what is the next thing you do before reaching for the gin and tonic? Naturally you read the label that says "100% linen - Made in Turkey"....

Now we all know that Turkish linen is probably the finest quality, but where do you buy such luxurious bathroom and bedding wares?

Take a visit to Ozdilek in Westfield Stratford where you can sample their product range at first hand. Oracle Interiors have just completed their flagship retail store for the opening of the new Shopping Centre.

Massimo Dutti :: Regent Street

There's a good review of one of our recently completed store refits for Massimo Dutti on Regent Street in Retail Week. John Ryan covers the facelift project in some detail, interviewing Dilip Patel for a walk around.

"The idea that a store needs to be refreshed on a regular basis is as old as, if not the hills, then certainly the middle of the last century. The notion runs that, every so often, a store’s internal decor needs a bit of a facelift and that, if this doesn’t happen, like those of a certain age who have not enjoyed cosmetic surgery, things sag a bit and the cracks begin to show.
There’s been a branch of Inditex brand Massimo Dutti on Regent Street since 2002 and the road was, in fact, the first point of UK landfall for this retail format. Close to a decade later, it had reached the point where a number of minor alterations and mini-makeovers had been effected, according to Inditex UK and Ireland managing director Dilip Patel, but there had not been a full-scale rethink. Now the store has just emerged from a four-week revamp with a new look that Patel says is more in tune with the altered reality of Regent Street during the nine years Massimo Dutti has been in this country.

“The street’s changed a lot and there are a lot of new competitors,” he says. “There are still plenty of male shoppers, but now there are many female shoppers on Regent Street as well.”
It’s a view that signals a clear understanding of the gradual evolution of the street during the period. It has gone from a thoroughfare that for much of its length was filled with grand but somewhat timeworn shops that catered predominantly for men to a fully fledged fashion destination. And as such, the appearance of every retailer from Mango to Zara by way of, say, H&M has meant the gender balance of the shopper population along the street has also changed...."

ALDO Shoes :: Yes we can

One of the interesting aspects of being involved in shopfitting is that you are never sure of what you'll be asked to do next. We are currently working on a re-fit of a store for Canadian footwear retailer ALDO in Camden High Street, and in keeping with the vernacular architecture, we are also applying a beautiful bespoke artwork to the whole building shopfront depicting the subcultural life of Montreal.

"The Devil is in the Detail" we like to say at Oracle Interiors....!

One New Change stands at 560,000 sq feet (52,024 sq metres) and is the equivalent area of just over 12 football pitches, with 220,000 sq feet of retail space and 330,000 sq feet office spac. The external cladding is made up of 6,500 glass panels of different sizes and shapes, of which 4,300 are individually hand crafted.

Retro glamour!

We're just putting the finishing touches to the latest Cath Kidston store which opens shortly in Chichester. The traditionally sign written fascia is something of a rarity, although we think it looks fantastic.

Cath Kidston has a great range of homeware, clothing, accessories and outdoor products. The home furnishings range is inspired by textured floral prints, and Chichester should prove to be the perfect location for this store.

We've just fitted "the most expensive bath in the world" into Harrods for Baldi, the Italian luxury goods maker.  We also completed the fit-out of their showroom in Harrods Luxury Goods department some time ago. It's worth a visit if you are thinking of sprucing up your bathroom or living room...

Juicy Couture Flagship in Bruton Street.

Interesting feature in Draper's Review on the shop that we recently completed for Juicy Couture in Bruton Street Mayfair....

"“Excess all areas” might provide an executive summary of the visual merchandising technique employed in this store, and for pure invention, this one really takes some beating.

.....The most visually merchandised store to hit London this year and a real shot in the arm for those who say that not much has been happening in the new stores world during 2009. The stock may not be to everyone’s taste, but this is an exceptional fashion"
